Optional Extra Credit! Due Date: Any time until the end of the academic school year

As a way to encourage you to communicate with each other over the next few weeks, I am offering an extra credit assignment in which as many of you in period 9 Global History can work together.... you will create an historical scene OR make an alternative historical scene... in minecraft! (Not to worry- if you do not have minecraft you can do something similar, but in another format of your choosing such as writing a story or creating a comic book.)

Requirements:
1. Decide who you will work with. As the reason behind this project is to encourage your communication with each other in addition to learning history, I will allow as many of you who want to do this to work together. However, you will have to let me know who did what and how much work each person contributed.
2. Choose an historical time period and civilization. For example, we are currently in the middle ages, so you can choose to create a European medieval manor, a scene of the Crusades, or feudal Japan. *You can also decide to create an alternative historical scene (such as what if the Mongols conquered all of Europe?) If you do that, you will have to explain the reasoning behind your scene.
3. If you are working in a large group, divide up different parts of your historical scene. Again, each person will have to explain what they did and why (using historical evidence)
4. Cite all historical sources used using MLA format. You need a minimum of 2 primary sources (which can be photographs, or documents from the time period)

Grade: Depending on what you create, this may be equal up to an entire exam grade.. or more! It really will depend on effort, creativity, and historical research. Again, you can turn this in anytime from now until the end of the academic school year.

If you decide to do this, let me know who is in your group and what your vision is. I want you to be as creative as possible! I can help suggest historical sources for references.
*I do NOT suggest survival mode, but feel free to be brave!
**ITo turn it in you can send me screen shots or a video of your project with your cited sources and explanation/justification for what you did.

If you want to do a similar project but in another format (a story, comic book, etc), also contact me and let me know what you might like to do.

Regards,
A Glass
