SUMMER 2020 STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS

C.I.E.E. GLOBAL NAVIGATOR PROGRAM

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce that our school has been chosen to receive $25,000 in Global Navigator Scholarships for students to study abroad during their 2020 summer break.

This is a rare opportunity for your teen to grow and gain experience for college and beyond. A high school study abroad experience also puts students in the top 1% of college applicants and gives them a great topic for their college application essays.

These Summer Study Abroad Programs are offered by CIEE, a leader in international education. CIEE has 70 years of experience in international exchanges, handles all aspects of the program and travel, and offers start-to-finish support – insurance, great attention to safety, and 24/7 support lines.

All programs feature top-notch academics and cultural immersion, combined with exciting activities and travel in one of 32 amazing destinations around the world. For 2020 there will be the addition of new program locations as well! There are three types of programs:

  • Language & Culture – Whether your teen is interested in Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Italian, or Arabic, language and cultural immersion programs are the best way to build language fluency and cultural competence. Upon completion, students will come home with a certificate showing growth in language proficiency, new cultural insights, and a portfolio of media products demonstrating their progress. For a $100 transcript fee, students can opt to receive 4 college credits for their 4-week program.
  • Service & Leadership – In community projects in the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Tanzania, Mexico, South Africa or India, students help to make the world a better place and develop lifelong skills that will serve them as global citizens. Service projects focus on Service and Leadership, the Environment or Children’s rights, and students earn a certificate for 50 hours of service.
  • Global Discovery – Students explore a personal interest in places such as Czech Republic, England, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Botswana, Costa Rica, Portugal, Spain, Chile, China, Germany, Ireland, Belgium or Netherlands and may even get a head start on a career! Programs include Arts, STEM, Global Entrepreneurship or International Relations & Activism.

Students graduating in 2021, 2022, or 2023 are eligible to apply for a scholarship for summer 2020. Scholarship funds will be awarded based on merit and on financial need. Students traveling on a scholarship for summer 2020 are not eligible to reapply for scholarships, but will receive an Alumni Discount of 10% off their summer program. The deadline to apply is November 26, 2019. We hope this early deadline will allow students more time to fundraise for their flight costs.

Students may apply online as early as this summer at:
