MODERN DANCE level 1  (DMN31)

This is an introductory level dance course.  Students will be taught dance terminology, develop skills and techniques, improvise, choreograph, and understand dance as a means of expression and communication through various dance genres.  This course requires proper dance footwear and attire.  Students will be engaged in dance daily.

 

MODERN DANCE level 2  (DMN32) 

This is an intermediate level dance course.  Students will expand their growth as a dancer with continued emphasis on terminology, skills and technique acquisition, improvisation, choreography, and understanding dance as a means of expression and communication through various dance genres.  This course requires proper dance footwear and attire.  Students will be engaged in dance daily.  This class culminates in a dance performance.   2 credits, Full year, prerequisite DMN31 or Ms. Quinn’s permission

 

MODERN DANCE level 3  (DMN33) 

This is an advanced level dance course.  Students will continue to expand their growth as a dancer with emphasis on musical complexity, dynamic movement, performance and emotional connection while being able to carry more mature themes in their dancing.  This class is for dancers with technical proficiency and a thorough understanding of the vocabulary.  The instructional focus will be on terminology, skills and technique acquisition, improvisation, choreography, and understanding dance as a means of expression and communication through various dance genres.  This class will perform in the Annual Dance Concert and all dancers are expected to perform.  This class will have a Student Choreography Project component.  2 credits, Full year, prerequisite DMN32 or Ms. Quinn’s permission
